Ice age in Ice Bar on Koh Samui
We had -7 degrees Celsius on Koh Samui today. Water turned to ice and breathing left misty clouds in the air. Wearing Russian style furry hats, heavy overcoats and gloves – we covered ourselves from the freezing cold. Did global warming mix up the weather or did the gods try to freeze perpetual traveler dreams? Nope. We just visited the Ice Bar on Koh Samui island!
Not what one would expect on a tropical island but true: Koh Samui has a party lounge chamber entirely made of ice with various ice sculptures. Entering the freezing chamber is through a narrow corridor and two thick safe like doors.

Way to go!
Just chillin on an ice ship.
The dark Ice Bar secret: after the tsunami disaster in 2011 there was no power for a long time so that the complete interior turned to water and had to be rebuild from scratch. All is good now. Pssst.
Watch out for dragons!
Those drinks were sort of strong :)
|Loved those frosty carvings.||Smooth.|
See you again! The entrance fee was 395 Baht per person not including drinks but we were told that we wouldn’t have to pay an entrance fee next time.
